Hello wonderful Penrose Panthers!
I am Mr. Charles MacGregor (or as the 4th Graders like to call me: Mr. Mac&Cheese, or Mr. Cool Beans to the 3rd Graders), and I am lucky enough to serve as the School Counselor for Penrose Elementary. I received my MA in Counseling and Human Services with an emphasis in School Counseling from UCCS. My mission as your school counselor is to provide a comprehensive social emotional learning curriculum that will boost academics, social emotional intelligence, and college-career awareness through a creative approach. I have a strong passion for forming the building blocks of a child's early development to ensure they achieve their full potential in their later years and do so with a smile on their faces. When I'm not at Penrose telling my latest groan inducing puns I enjoy hiking, playing Table Top Roleplaying Games, reading, completing puzzles, and exercising.
As a School Counselor my services are aligned with the ASCA (American School Counselor Association) standards and practices model. The school counseling program I provide includes individual and group counseling, classroom guidance, crisis prevention and interventions, and academic support among so much more. I believe in the Power of “YET” and the Growth Mindset. This is the belief in one's self or another person's abilities to realize some things are worth waiting for and those things take work; I believe in encouraging children to achieve their full potential, to celebrate their success as well as their mistakes.
